Someone Flies.  Someone Dies.
No One Is Safe.
Somewhere
in the Nevada desert, Ted is practicing how to control his power when
someone IMs him. This person knows about his powers and says that she
has one, too. Ted said that they should meet and the person said that
she was in the room. She’s a new hero who can send signals
electronically like wifi or something. Cool, huh?
I wish I had that sort of power so then I don’t have to turn on my lappy to blog!
At first Ted doesn’t trust her but then she reveals that she was also
abducted like him and showed him the needle marks on her neck. Now,
both of them want to stop the guys that did that to them…

Mrs. Bennet doesn’t recognize
Mr. Muggles and Claire and grabs a knife! Clair calls for her father
but he isn’t there and brings her brother down, instead telling him
that their mom can’t recognize her. When they reach the kitchen, Mrs.
Bennet miraculously remembers Claire but forgets their earlier
confrontation…

Matt Parkman surprises Janice, his pregnant wife with a gift - a diamond ring!
Unfortunately, the ring didn’t fit her so she had to get it re-sized
and found out that the ring costs about $40,000 and accused her of
stealing it! She quickly explains that her husband is a cop and he has
a very good explanation for this and confronts Matt about it. Matt
confesses to Janice where he got the diamonds from and told her that
Malski is dead. Both of them decide to go the precinct and return the
diamonds when the phone rings…

It’s Ted and he wants to meet
up with him. They meet in a graveyard and Ted tells Matt that he wants
his help. Matt doesn’t want to help but then the other girl (I’m just
so bad with names and I forgot hers!) shows up and tells Matt that they
have found evidence of a crate of needles being sent to Primatch Inc.
Matt tells them that it’s a dead end but Ted convinces him that with
the three of them they could find some answers to what has become of
them…
I just wish Mohinder finds them but I don’t think they will meet up yet since Sylar is still with him pretending to be Zane (Ha! now I remember his name: Zane Taylor - the person Sylar killed).
Clair tells her mother (I’m
now referring to Mrs. Bennet) about her concerns. Her mother brushes it
off and tells her that "Dad will take care of it." Claire confides to
her mother that she shouldn’t trust her father too much and tells her
about her suspicions that someone is responsible for her forgetfulness.
Her mother just says that it’s just stress and all they need is some
quality time together but she suddenly collapses…

Isaac paints footprints on a
wet floor and calls Mr. Bennet that he thinks Peter is still alive -
just invisible. Mr. Bennet said that he would be there as soon as he
can. When he arrived, Isaac showed him the paintings and Mr. Bennet
said that maybe Peter has met someone who has the power to be invisible
and absorbed his powers. The invisible person who he thinks is dead. (
Now,
I think Mr. Bennet has known about powers for a long long time since
Claude mentioned that he had been invisible for 15 years or so
.)
Mr. Bennet then gives Isaac a gun and tells him to "Save the world."
After Mr. Bennet and the Hessian left, Simone arrives and begs Isaac to
find Peter. He blatantly lies and said that he couldn’t paint Peter’s
whereabouts. Simone leaves furiously…

Simone meets up with Nathan
and tells him that she thinks that he should go public about his
brother’s situation and about his ability to fly but Nathan thinks that
it is not a good idea.
I
think he is right, though. People would think that they are freaks and
that they should be "burned to the stake" as Nathan put it.
..
At the hospital, Claire finds
out that there is a bruise in her mother’s brain in the part where
memories are stored. She confides to the doctor that a there’s a guy
working for her father that can make people forget just by touching
that person. Obviously the doctor doesn’t believe her and leaves (which
is stupid because doctors aren’t supposed to show that they are
skeptical about what you tell them…well, that’s what I learned as a
student nurse. You are supposed to listen to that person and not show
that you are doubtful about the explanation given.) Anyway, when Mr.
Bennet arrives, Claire gets so mad that she tells him that it’s his
fault that her mom is sick and that he shouldn’t wipe out her memories.
Mr. Bennet tells Claire that what she knows is dangerous and tells her
about Sylar…

Claude and Peter are back in
the Devereax rooftop. Claude training Peter how to use his powers.
While both of them are invisible Mr Bennet and he Hessian arrive and
shot Claude (they where using night vision goggles…hmmm nice trick!).
Then they shot Peter but before he could get hit by the bullets, he
made them stop in mid-air through telekinesis. In a rage, Peter carries
Claude and jumps off the building and guess who flies? It’s Peter!
I just knew he could do it because in the previous episodes, he had already started harnessing his absorbed powers.
Claude wakes up in Peter’s
apartment and gets raving mad saying that Peter was the one who led
them to him. Claude admits that he was also abducted by them and showed
him the needle marks. Peter doesn’t know what he is talking about.
Claude believes that Peter is innocent but says that it was probably
Isaac, the painter because he was at the rooftop when they were
following Simone…

In Las Vegas, Ando went with
the stripper, Hope and discovered the stolen casino chips but then Hiro
arrives with the FBI who was Hope’s partner and demands his share of
the loot. A shooting ensues and Ando gets hit. The cops arrive before
someone gets killed. Hiro is ridden with guilt and decides that Ando
should go back to Japan. Hiro leaves Ando and boards a bus alone…

Isaac is painting Peter in a
rage and when he come out of his trance, Peter is right behind him.
Peter confronts Isaac and asked him why he brought Mr. Bennet to him.
Isaac tells him that Peter must die because he would explode and
destroy all of New York City. Isaac grabs a gun and Peter becomes
invisible. Isaac shoots randomly and hits someone…

Mohinder and Sylar find
another hero, an older woman who works in a machine shop. She
reluctantly admitted that she had powers after she saw what Sylar could
do (he was using Zane’s power: melting anything metal). She said that
she could hear things even from 40 miles away, rain falling or a
cockroach walking or even the heartbeat of a person. Sylar’s heartbeat
was racing (The bastard! I know what he was thinking! Another brain to
steal!). The woman said that she doesn’t want her powers taken from her
because she had already controlled it but Mohinder said that he was
only there to help her and to run some tests. She told them to come
back the next day which was a very very bad idea for her. Mohinder and
Sylar checked into a motel and he told Sylar that he was glad that he
came with him because he now know that it would be easy to show those
on the list that they had powers. When they arrived back at the woman’s
machine shop, Mohinder found her dead, her head cut off. He started
calling the cops but Sylar convinced him that they would be the number
one suspects of the crime since they couldn’t explain the true reason
why they where there in Montana…

Back in Isaac’s studio, Simone gets hit and dies in the arms of Peter who has shown himself…
In Odessa, Claire is mad at
her father for doing this to her mother and is telling him to stop when
Matt, Ted and the woman arrive demanding answers…

Heroes 14 - Distraction

Hro_114_02
Mr. Bennet has caught Sylar but he escaped and locked Mr. Bennet in his prison and now, he’s out to get Claire!  Fortunately Claire and Zach skipped school to meet Claire’s real mom in Kermit (?), Texas.  Surprisingly (yeah, I was kinda expecting this to happen), Claire showed her real mom, Meredith her power and in turn she showed Claire her own power - she can conjure up fire.  I suppose this is the reason why their apartment building burned 14 years ago.  Meanwhile back in Odessa, Claire’s foster mom accidentally found Sylar already inside their house and thought that he saved Mr. Muggles, her dog.  She decided to invite him for dinner.  It was really creepy the way Sylar kept on asking about Claire and how special she is which made her mom very uncomfortable and so she reached for the phone.  Sylar obviously got pissed and showed his powers.  But before he could kill Mrs. Bennet, Mr. Bennet arrived with the Hessian (I still don’t know his name) and shot him but he escaped…
Meanwhile in Las Vegas, Hiro Nakamura and Ando was captured by Hiro’s father, a very rich businessman who wanted Hiro to return to Japan and be the Vice President because he was his heir.  Fortunately, Hiro convinced his father to change his mind and so Hiro and Ando went back to their current mission - to get to Linderman…
In New York, Peter Patrelli met this guy who was invisible and since he can absorb his powers, Peter became invisible, too.  This invisible guy, Claude decides to try to teach Peter how to control his powers…
Niki Sanders has been released from prison thanks to Mr. Linderman!  Of course, that was before Jessica surfaced and killed their Psychologist.  Now that Niki is free, Jessica can now be in control and she has a job to do for Linderman…
Back in Kermit, Meredith called Claire’s biological father…

Heroes 15 - Run!

Hro_115_01
Guess who Claire’s biological father is?  It’s Nathan Patrelli!  Yes, it’s Peter’s brother, the flying man!  So here’s another child sired by two people with powers just like Micah Sanders (his parents are Nikki and D.L. Hawkins).  Anyway, Meredith blackmails Nathan and demands money - about $100,000.  Nathan decides to bring it to her in person despite the objections of his mother…
Claire gets grounded after her stint in skipping school because her mom, Mrs. Bennet’s memory has been erased again, thanks to Mr. Bennet, and forgot that she asked permission to skip school to visit the "aquarium."  This is all good since Sylar is still out there.  Unfortunately, Claire has no idea that Sylar is after her.  She sneaks out and visits her Meredith to ask her about her real father.  Meredith up and lies to her and says that her biological father will not meet her but will just give them money, $50,000 and she will split it with her (Duh! So much for being a family!).  Meredith still refuses to tell Claire who her real father is and bids good-bye since she would be going back to Mexico (she was on the run and all since she admitted that someone was out to get her).  Claire sneaks again and eavesdrops on her Nathan and Meredith’s conversation.  Meredith told him her plans and said that he wasn’t going to meet Claire and Nathan also agreed that it was for the best.  This made Claire really mad and when Nathan was leaving she threw a rock at his car.  She still didn’t see and didn’t know who her real father is…
Niki Sanders (of course, it’s Jessica who’s in control now) goes to Los Angeles to kill Linderman’s ex-employee who is in Los Angeles and has acquired the services of Matt Parkman, the guy who can hear other people’s thoughts.  In the previous episodes, he was suspended from LAPD for his stunt at the Primatech, Mr. Bennet’s paper company, so he is now a bodyguard.  His current employer is the guy (again, I can’t remember his name) Niki is hired to kill.  They go to the Diamond district in LA that’s in 6th and Broadway (I was there just last year! I can’t believe I’m saying this but I miss LA!), where Niki was also heading.  Matt hears that someone was already on the way to kill the guy he was hired to guard and they leave the room.  To cut the story short, Matt almost gets thrown out the building and Jessica has succeeded in killing that guy she was hired to kill.  Matt finds the stash of diamonds and was about to give it to the cops but he hears that he’s a loser and is not going back to LAPD and so he just keeps to loot (sweet!)…
Simone goes to Isaac Mendes, the one who can paint the future, now without the aid of heroin (in the previous episodes, he couldn’t paint the future without getting a fix), and asked for his help to look for Peter Petrelli who hasn’t been found since he disappeared from the hospital.  Fast forward to a few hours later when Simone goes back to Isaac’s apartment and goes to the rooftop and finds Isaac there and they talk about their future or what might their future be.  They hug.  Unbeknownst to them, Peter was there and he sees everything with Claude who has been telling him that he has to let go with the other people in his lives to control his power.  That night, Peter and Claude get into an argument and Claude pushes Peter down the building because he wanted Peter to fly.  Peter landed on top of a taxi but with his regeneration powers (obviously he absorbed this from Claire back in Odessa), he didn’t die…
Meanwhile, Isaac paints Peter by the Taxi and calls Mr. Bennet about the new information…

Mohinder Suresh is out to look
for all the people in his father’s list and is calling everyone but only one
person returns his call.  Before he could get to this guy, Sylar knocks on
the door and pretends to be Dr. Suresh. The guy shows him his powers…

When Mohinder arrives at the guy’s
house, it is Sylar who answers the door and pretends to be the guy he just
killed. After showing Mohinder his
powers, Mohinder admits that he wants to warn the others on his list. Sylar, being the wacko that he is, suggests
that he wants to go with him and try to help the others…
In

Las Vegas, Ando and Hiro get sidetracked by a stripper who wants
them to retrieve her pink bag in one of the rooms.  Hiro gets locked up in
a storeroom and a man enters with a gun in his hand…
Claire gets home and discovers that Mrs. Bennet can’t recognize Mr. Muggles and HER!

These are the new movies that I’ve seen lately…  Share lang ko sa akong comments ani nila… you could also share yours… :)

  • Apocalypto_onesheet
    Apocalypto
[Directed by Mel Gibson] {****} - "a heart stopping mythic action-adventure set against the turbulent times of the once great Mayan civilization.  When his idyllic existence is brutally disrupted by a violent invading force, a man is taken on a perilous journey to a world ruled by fear and oppression where a harrowing end awaits him.  Through a twist of fate and spurred by the power of his love for his woman and his family, he will make a desperate break to return home and to ultimately save his way of life." (from Apocalypto official website) ~This is a really good movie inspite of the subtitles!  It’s just like Mel Gibson’s last film, "The Passion of the Christ" it was really moving and informative, too.  I wasn’t shocked about all the beheading stuff because I already knew that the Mayans worshipped the Sun god and made offerings to him.  What really amazed me was the birthing process…yeah Jaguar Paw’s wife gave birth in the movie while she was inside the well which was already filling up with water because of the rain.  I was a bit shocked to see the violence e.g. killings and the sacrificing part but I think it was very well depicted.
  • Poster_happy_feet
    Happy Feet
[Warner Bros. Animated] {**} - "in the great nation of Emperor Penguins, deep in Antarctica, you’re nobody unless you can sing -  which is unfortunate for Mumble (Elijah Wood), who is the worst singer in the world.  He is born dancing to his own tune…tap dancing."  (from Happy Feet official website) ~ I didn’t really liked this movie.  That’s all I can say.  I didn’t enjoy it at all…it’s just too bad since I loved the actors who voiced the characters.
  • Justlikeheavenposter0
    Just Like Heaven
[Reese Witherspoon, Mark Ruffalo] {**} - "When David (Mark Ruffalo) rented his quaint san Francisco apartment, the last thing he expected - or wanted - was a roommate.  he had only begun to make a complete mess of the place when a pretty but decidedly controlling young woman named Elizabeth (Reese Witherspoon) suddenly shows up, adamantly insisting the apartment is hers.  David assumes there’s been a gian misunderstanding…until Elizabeth disappears mysteriously as she appeared.  Changing the locks does nothing to deter Elizabeth, who begins to appear and disappera at will - mostly to rebuke David for his personal living habits in her apartment.  Convinced she is a ghost, David tries to help Elizabeth cross over to the "other side."  But while Elizabeth has discovered she does have a distinctly ethereal quality - she can walk trough walls - she is equally convinced that she is somehow still alive and isn’t crossing over anywhere.  As Ellizabeth and David search for the truth about who Elizabeth really is and how she came to be in her present state, their relationship deepens to love.  Unfortunately, they have very little time before their prospects for a future together permanently fade away."  (from Just Like Heaven official website) ~ A totally lovable romantic comedy.  There were funny parts and… parts that didn’t make any sense at all and I just didn’t get it.  Was that thing possible? Hmmm.. well, for those who love romantic comedies, this one is sure to be fun.

*UPDATED!*

  •  3334eragonbb
    Eragon
[Ed Speleers, Jeremy Irons, Robert Carlyle, John Malkovich] {***} - "The sands of time cannot be stopped. Years pass whether we will them or not… but we can remember. What has been lost may yet live on in memories. That which you will hear is imperfect and fragmented, yet treasure it, for without you it does not exist. I give you now a memory that has been forgotten, hidden in the dreamy haze that lies behind us…" - Brom the Storyteller
Before your grandfathers’ fathers were born, and even before their fathers, the Dragon Riders were formed. To protect and guard was their mission, and for thousands of years they succeeded. Their prowess in battle was unmatched, for each had the strength of ten men. They were immortal unless blade or poison took them. For good only were their powers used, and under their tutelage tall cities and towers were built out of the living stone. Wealth flowed into the cities of Alagaesia, and men prospered.  Though no enemy could destroy them, they could not guard against themselves. And it came to pass at the height of their power that a boy, Galbatorix, was born. At ten he was tested and it was found that a great power resided in him. The Riders accepted him as their own, and he exceeded all others in skill. Gifted with a sharp mind and strong body, he quickly rose among the Riders’ ranks.
The Riders grew arrogant in their power and ignored caution. During a reckless trip Galbatorix and two friends were ambushed, his friends killed, and his dragon slayed. For months he wandered, becoming more and more mad, until he was found unconscious by a kind farmer, and returned to the Riders’ council.  When the Riders refused to grant him another dragon, Galbatorix grew mad with rage. Vowing revenge on the Riders, he began to hone his use of dark secrets, learned from a Shade. Then, in the dark of the night he stole a dragon hatchling, and convinced Morzan, a weak-minded Rider, to join him in his practice of dark secrets and forbidden magic. Together they gained strength, and waged a war of revenge against the Riders. Twelve more of the Riders, desiring power and revenge, joined Galbatorix, and they became the Thirteen Forsworn.  In the last bloody battle, Galbatorix gained dominance over all, and anointed himself king over all Alagaesia. And from that day on, he has ruled.  When Eragon finds a polished blue stone in the forest, he thinks it’s the lucky discovery of a poor farm boy. But when the stone brings a dragon hatchling, Eragon soon realizes he has stumbled upon a legacy nearly as old as the Empire itself. (from
Eragon official website) ~ I’m sure this is just the debut of a strong of Eragon sequels because it wasn’t that exciting.  This movie just introduced most of the characters and also showed us how Eragon became a Dragon Rider.  Basically, this movie just showed the main plot - evil Dragon Rider wants to rule the world, kill all the other riders, steal and kill all Dragon, and kill the main actor, yadda, yadda, yadda.  I’m not saying that this movie wasn’t good but it’s just too, if I may coin our Bisaya dialect, "bitin."  I’m just looking forward to the sequels and I hope it would be very enjoyable.
  • Theguardianposter
    The Guardian
[Kevin Costner, Ashton Kutcher] {***} - Kevin Costner and Ashton Kutcher star in The Guardian, the poerfil, action-packed drama thaat takes you inside the neve-before-seen world of the elite Coast Guard Rescue Swimmers.  Reeling with grief in the wake of a mission gone tragically wrong, legendary Rescue Swimmer Ben Randal (Costner) is given a mission he doesn’t want; training new recruits.  Once there, he knocks head with cocky Jake Fischer (Kutcher), a swimming champ driven by a painful secret, who’s more interrested in breaking Ben’s records than saving lives.  But Ben also sees Jake has what it takes to be the best of the best.  Filled with spectacular rescues in the lethal waters of the Bering Sea, The Guardian is a riveting and compelling story that dives straight into the heart and soul of real heroes, the unsung guardians of the sea.  (from The Guardian official website) ~ It’s a very good movie but I still think of Ashton as Kelso in That 70’s Show and the guy from Punk’d so it’s really hard for me to see him doing serious roles.  Now I know why it’s really good!  I just found out that this was based on a book written by Nicholas Sparks one of my favorite writers.  He has also written several books that have become big screen movies, too.  For those of you who are not familiar with them, to name a few they are: The Notebook, A Walk to Remember, and Message in a Bottle. You can also visit Nicholas Sparks official website.

Heroes
The Theory of Evolution.  That’s Darwin, right? Well, here’s another T.V. series for you!  Heroes is about ordinary people having extraordinary abilities - and some of them don’t even know it yet!  It’s about ordinary people starting to discover their abilites who meet up with others like them to save the world.

The following is from the Heroes Official Website on NBC.  Click link for more info.

From creator/writer Tim Kring (NBC’s "Crossing Jordan") comes "Heroes,"
an epic drama that chronicles the lives of ordinary people who discover
they possess extraordinary abilities.

As a total eclipse casts its shadow across the globe, a genetics
professor (Sendhil Ramamurthy, "Blind Guy Driving") in India is led by
father’s disappearance to uncover a secret theory — there are people
with super powers living among us. A young dreamer (Milo Ventimiglia,
"Gilmore Girls") tries to convince his politician brother (Adrian
Pasdar, "Judging Amy") that he can fly. A high school cheerleader
(Hayden Panettiere, "Ice Princess") learns that she is totally
indestructible. A Las Vegas stripper (Ali Larter, "Final Destination"),
struggling to make ends meet to support her young son (Noah Gray-Cabey,
"My Wife & Kids"), discovers that her mirror image has a secret. A
fugitive from justice (Leonard Roberts, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer")
continues to baffle authorities who twice have been unable to contain
him. A gifted artist (Santiago Cabrera, "Empire"), whose drug addiction
is destroying his life and relationship with his girlfriend (Tawny
Cypress, NBC’s "Third Watch"), can paint the future. A down-on-his-luck
Los Angeles beat cop (Greg Grunberg, "Alias") can hear people’s
thoughts, which puts him on the trail of an elusive serial killer. In
Japan, a young man (Masi Oka, NBC’s "Scrubs") develops a way to stop
time through sheer will power. Their ultimate destiny is nothing less
than saving the world…

It’s  done! I’ve finally conquered the game! :D

This game has a really really interresting storyline.  I didn’t expect how the story came to it’s conclusion!  I didn’t quite get the story at first since i hadn’t played the two previous Xenosaga games.  Nonetheless, I enjoyed this one!
